PRODUCT INFORMATION
18Q Mini Excavator: Product Details and Technical Specifications
1 Product Overview
The 18Q is a compact crawler excavator with an operating weight of 1,500 kg. It is designed primarily for small earthworks, municipal maintenance, landscaping, utility installation, and localized demolition. Its transport dimensions are 3,249 mm long, 1,120 mm wide, and 2,314 mm high. Site access should be planned according to passage widths, overhead clearance, and ground conditions.
The machine features a crawler undercarriage, adjustable dozer blade, standard bucket, adjustable operator seat, standard canopy, and 360° upper-structure rotation. Optional hydraulic breakers, rippers, log grapples, rakes, augers, larger buckets, and mud buckets extend its use beyond excavation, backfilling, and leveling to breaking, loosening soil, gripping material, drilling, and dredging.

Main Operating Capabilities
Basic Excavation:
The standard bucket is suitable for trenches, planting pits, small foundations, and general earthworks. A maximum digging depth of 2,091 mm and maximum digging reach of 3,496 mm help assess required excavation depth and the area accessible from a fixed position. Actual operation depends on soil and available site space.
Backfilling and Leveling:
The adjustable dozer blade can move loose soil, backfill trenches, and level working surfaces. Its supporting function must be used according to the operating manual, with machine positioning adapted to ground-bearing conditions.
Loading and Cleanup:
Maximum digging height is 3,028 mm, and maximum dumping height is 2,190 mm. Before loading, check the receiving container or truck sidewall height, bucket tipping clearance, and machine position. Maximum height alone does not establish loading feasibility.

Power System
The standard configuration lists a Laidong 385B engine, identified as KM385B in English. The specifications also list Laidong/Kubota, KM385B/D722, and 24 HP/13.9 HP. These represent engine variants that must be verified separately. The order should specify engine brand, complete model, and rated power, and these should be checked against the engine nameplate upon delivery.
Hydraulics and Piping
Standard equipment includes imported hydraulic cylinders and hoses, NOK seals, and a dual gear pump. The brochure also depicts a foot-operated breaker control, which should be checked when verifying breaker capability; the hydraulic breaker itself remains an optional attachment. Before fitting a breaker or auger, confirm auxiliary hydraulic pressure, flow, couplings, and return-line requirements.

Notes on Using the Specifications
· Engine brand, model, and maximum power must be checked as a matching set for each engine variant. The 24 HP and 13.9 HP ratings must not be added together and do not mean that one machine delivers both outputs.
· Maximum digging reach, depth, height, and dumping height describe the operating envelope. Actual performance depends on attachment, machine position, soil, and operating posture. The Chinese specifications identify 2,190 mm as the maximum dumping height.
· The brochure figures of 0–6 km/h travel speed and 30° gradeability must not be taken as safe operating limits for every road or slope. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
· Unspecified items, including bucket capacity, hydraulic pressure, pump flow, fuel tank capacity, ground clearance, and minimum swing radius, require separate confirmation. Do not infer machine tonnage or other specifications from the model number.
6 Specification Interpretation and Selection Advice
Site Access
Before entering a site, compare the transport width of 1,120 mm and height of 2,314 mm with measured doorways, passageway turns, and overhead obstacles; allow clearance for operating movement and machine deviation. The transport length of 3,249 mm must also be considered for loading platforms and parking spaces.
Working Envelope
The maximum digging depth of 2,091 mm offers an initial indication of suitability for trenches, planting pits, and small foundations. The maximum reach of 3,496 mm helps estimate coverage from a given machine position. Work near the limits must be assessed using a working-range diagram, trench sections, and a trial run; no single specification determines suitability.
Loading Capability
The maximum dumping height of 2,190 mm is an important loading dimension. Also verify truck sidewall height, bucket discharge path, and safe clearance. The 1,500 kg operating weight must be included in transport load assessments, with attachments and accessories counted separately.
Engine Options
Engine selection should be based on the actual supply versions of the Laidong KM385B and Kubota D722. Compare power rating, spare-parts availability, maintenance arrangements, and project requirements. Standard tracks are engineering rubber tracks; optional steel tracks are available. Consider pavement protection, wear conditions, and delivered weight when selecting tracks.

7 Operating Safety and Maintenance
The following are general operating checks and maintenance reminders for product discussions and equipment management. Specific procedures, service intervals, and safety requirements must follow the manufacturer’s manual. Operators must be trained and check machine condition and site conditions before entering and working on site.
Pre-Operation Checks
· Check fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil, and cooling-system condition as instructed in the manual; confirm there are no visible leaks.
· Inspect tracks, pins, hoses, fittings, bucket, and attachment connections. Check steel-track versions according to their applicable instructions.
· Verify safety-lock operation, display status, and foot-control labels; test all mechanisms according to the manual.
· Keep people and obstacles clear of the work area and identify underground services, overhead lines, and exposed edges.
· For indoor or partly enclosed areas, first confirm ventilation, exhaust management, ground load capacity, and access conditions.
Precautions During Operation
· Choose operating methods according to ground and slope conditions. The 30° gradeability rating does not authorize continuous cross-slope operation.
· Engage and release the safety lock as specified by the manufacturer. Verify the exact interlock functions rather than judging by appearance.
· Check the surrounding area before swinging or dumping; keep people outside the working equipment’s range of movement.
· Before using a hydraulic breaker, confirm correct installation and hydraulic compatibility, and understand the foot-control operation.
· Stop and inspect the machine if unusual noise, abnormal movement, display warnings, or leaks occur; follow the manual for corrective action.
Maintenance and Parking
· Follow the manual for parking, lowering the working equipment, locking controls, and shutting down the engine.
· Clean tracks, cooling areas, and pivot points regularly, and lubricate pins and connections as specified.
· Select fluids and filters and follow service intervals for the actual engine variant and hydraulic system.
· Keep the display and foot-control area clean. For long-term storage, provide corrosion and rain protection and maintain the battery.
